“Waste” Information Morning

17th Jan 2020

Today we had a visit from Anthea Owens, the Waste and Recycling officer from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Anthea spoke to all the pupils about the issue of waste and where our waste goes. The pupils were encouraged to think about the amount of  rubbish they throw out daily, in school and at home. Anthea spoke to the pupils about how they can reduce, reuse and recycle their waste and how to use the blue, brown and black bins correctly. The pupils enjoyed this session and gained great knowledge  on how to reduce their waste.  The pupils were amazed to hear that recycling 25 plastic bottles can make a new football jersey! We hope the pupils can take the information they learned today and apply it at school and at home, to be more environmentally aware of their rubbish.
